SBM sees years of offshore growth ahead in Guyana

SBM Offshore says Guyana will remain one of its most important growth markets for years to come, with a steady pipeline of offshore developments supporting the company's long-term outlook.

During a recent presser, Chief Executive Officer Øivind Tangen repeatedly highlighted Guyana alongside Brazil and emerging opportunities in West Africa as key pillars of the company's future business.

"We see the continued pipeline in Guyana."

He also pointed to the strength of deepwater developments across the Atlantic Basin, saying the long-term outlook remains positive despite global economic uncertainty.

"We like to think the deepwater Atlantic Basin remains very strong."

SBM currently has multiple projects tied to Guyana, including FPSO Jaguar under construction for the Whiptail development, while awaiting a final award for the Longtail project.

The company's comments reinforce industry expectations that Guyana will continue adding new offshore developments well into the next decade, strengthening its position as one of the world's fastest-growing oil producers.
