Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley will attend the next Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo which is scheduled for February 16 to 19, 2027.
According to a release from the conference team, Prime Minister Mottley’s participation will add a significant regional perspective to the four-day conference, which will bring together government leaders, policymakers, industry executives, investors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders for discussions on the future of energy, investment, infrastructure and sustainable development.
"A prominent regional leader, Prime Minister Mottley has been an influential voice on Caribbean economic development, regional integration, climate resilience, energy security and the financing needs of developing and climate-vulnerable states.
"Her participation at the 2027 conference underscores the importance of regional collaboration as Guyana and the wider Caribbean navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape and pursue opportunities for stronger economic integration, greater investment and long-term sustainable growth," the Conference said.
Her participation in the conference comes as Barbados is seeking investors to explore for oil and natural gas in the island’s offshore waters.
The 2027 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo will be held under the theme “Beyond Frontiers: Guyana’s Energy Story.” The conference will provide a platform for high-level dialogue on Guyana’s expanding energy sector while examining the wider opportunities being created across the supply chain and other areas of the economy.
The event will also facilitate engagement among regional and international leaders, investors and businesses while highlighting opportunities for collaboration, innovation, local participation and sustainable development.
Additional speakers, programme highlights and conference announcements will be released in the coming days.
