Guyanese seeking opportunities in the country's growing oil and gas industry could soon benefit from two new workforce development programmes being introduced by MODEC Guyana.
The company has announced the launch of an Offshore Technical Trainee Program and an On-the-Job Professionals Program, both aimed at equipping local talent with the technical knowledge and practical experience needed to support Guyana's expanding offshore energy sector.
MODEC will officially unveil the initiatives during a launch event on July20, 2026, at the Marriott Hotel Ballroom in Georgetown. The session will provide an overview of each programme, eligibility requirements, and how participants can become involved.
According to the company, the programmes form part of its broader effort to invest in Guyanese professionals and strengthen the country's long-term workforce capacity. By focusing on skills development and hands-on learning, the initiatives are intended to prepare participants for careers that support offshore operations.
Individuals interested in attending the programme launch are encouraged to register by July 15. The event is scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 p.m.
The introduction of these programmes reflects the industry's continued focus on building a skilled local workforce that can contribute to the next phase of Guyana's energy development.
