The University of Guyana isn't only a space for teenagers and adults seeking tertiary education. Through the Regional Accelerator for STEM Students Readiness (RASSR) programme, the university is also nurturing young minds from all 10 regions to explore and excel in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The programme is funded through the Greater Guyana Initiative — a US$100 million venture launched by ExxonMobil Guyana and its co-venturers, Hess Guyana Exploration and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana — to support education and development in Guyana.
For UG's Vice Chancellor, Professor Paloma Mohamed Martin, RASSR offers a glimpse of what's possible when young Guyanese are given the opportunity to shine.
